The Roman’s Road by Greg Laure
What is truth? Pilot asked Jesus just before he sent him to the cross. Although he was a governor and judge for the Roman Empire, he didn't seem to have any concept of truth. The Roman world would soon learn what truth was. It would also learn that Jesus Christ himself was “The Truth“. And it would be the Apostle Paul that God would send to bring his truth to the Roman world.

~
Living in Rome as a prisoner, Paul was still able to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to this vast empire. Sent before hand his letter to the Roman Church remains the perfect instruction for anyone coming to faith in Jesus Christ. Lets take a quick walk down the Roman Road of salvation so carefully paved for us in the Bible. Terry Garza

The Problem:

~ There’s some good news and then there’s some bad news. The bad news is that no one’s perfect. Romans 3:23 says it best: “For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard” (NLT). The Bible clearly teaches that we have all sinned against God.

The Penalty:

~ Consequences, consequences! There’s a price to pay for our sin-death. We’re all going to die due to the widespread effects of sin. As the Bible explains, “When Adam sinned, sin entered the entire human race. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned” (Romans 5:12 NLT). And if we die in our sin, the Bible says that we live in eternal separation from God.

The Provision:

~ Now it’s time for the Good News. Romans 5:8 tells us, “ But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” (NLT). God loved us so much that He provided a way to save us from our sins. He sent His only Son to die on the cross. Jesus Christ hung on the cross, not for His own sin, but for our sins.

The Pardon:

~ Where do we go from here? We confess that Jesus is our Lord and believe in Him with our entire being. The Apostle Paul sums it up with these words: “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved . For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your that you are saved” (Romans 10:9-10 NLT). The only way to escape eternity in Hell and experience life in Heaven is through Jesus Christ. He is the only way.

Now that you Believe in Christ, whats next?

Our lives become a sacrifice like Christs did:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. 12:1

We renew our minds to think like Jesus:

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. 12:2

We become Members of Gods kingdom:

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 12:2-5

The Holy Spirit gives us all special Gifts:

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. 12:6-8

We should live and behave as the Bible teaches us through God's grace and power unitll we arrive in Heaven ?

9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:

"If your enemy is hungry, feed him;

"If he is thirsty, give him something to drink.

In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
